Presentation: How to Prepare for an Earthquake

by Andrea Gonzalez on May 25, 2018

Are you ready for the next earthquake?

Almost every week there is a report in the news about a huge hurricane, earthquake, fire or flood. Although there is no way to know in advance when there will be a natural disaster or how serious it will be, we can prepare ahead of time.

On behalf of the Hispanic Council, Clatsop County, and Mercy Corp, we invite the Latino community to a presentation in Spanish on how to prepare for large-scale earthquakes.

There will be two presentations. One in Seaside and one in Astoria.

Seaside presentation will be held on Wednesday May 30, at the Seaside High School Library, Seaside High School from 5:30-7pm.

Astoria presentation will be held on Thursday May 31, at the Community College, Clatsop Community College in the building Columbia Hall 219 from 5:30-7pm.

In both presentations there will be a raffle for a survival equipment backpack. Children and youth can participate in an age-appropriate workshop to prepare them as well. We will also have light snacks and beverages! Families welcome, don’t miss out!
